Ather Energy, an electric vehicle (EV) company based in Bengaluru, India, has recently launched a new affordable variant of its popular electric scooter the Ather 450X. The company has announced two models, the Ather 450X and the Ather 450X Pro-Pack.
The new Ather 450X is available in an ex-showroom Delhi price, including state government subsidy; the base variant is priced at Rs 98,183, while the top-spec variant with the Pro Pack costs Rs 1.26 lakh. The Pro Pack includes many features such as fast charging. This variant is available in 6 colors including Cosmic Black, Salt Green, True Red, Lunar Grey, Space Gray, and Still White colours.
The base variant of the new Ather 450X includes advanced features such as hill hold assist, park assist, GPS navigation, ride modes, Bluetooth connectivity, and live tracking. However, it does not get OTA (over-the-air) updates.
Its 7-inch touchscreen has a basic grayscale interface instead of a multi-color display. The charging status of the scooter can also be seen on the screen.
The Ather 450X is equipped with a 3.7 kWh Lithium Ion battery pack with 25% more capacity than before and 20% more life. The battery warranty has been increased from three years to five years or 60,000 kms. Ather claims that this battery will give 70% range at the end of 5 years. The scooter gets four ride modes – Eco, Ride, Sport, and Warp. It has a certified-range of 146 km in a full charge, while the true-range is 105 km. The scooter has a top speed of 90 Kmph.
The company has updated the user interface of its dashboard with the new Atherstack 5.0 software and included Google Vector Map. By this, It will be easier for the user to make trips and decide traffic routes. The new interface is easy to use and shows remaining battery and range (KM) information to the user through different animation modes.
For safety, the scooter is equipped with a side stand cut-off feature that switches off the scooter when the side stand is open and an auto hill hold feature. For comfort, the seat length of the scooter has been increased and it also gets a tire pressure monitoring system. A special type of tire has been used in the scooter, which has 20% more grip and is suitable for all weather conditions.
The Ather 450X will compete with Ola S1 Pro and TVS iCube in the Indian market.

So far, there is no news that these scooters will be brought to Nepal. If these scooters are available in Nepal at the same price and warranty as they are available in the Indian market, that will be best option for nepali buyers who want to buy electric Scooter.
